Key Responsibilities
✅ Assist in Animal Examinations
Support veterinarians in physical check-ups, patient preparation, and recording animal health histories.
✅ Collect and Analyze Samples
Gather blood, urine, or tissue samples for laboratory testing to help diagnose diseases or infections.
✅ Administer Medication and Vaccines
Provide prescribed treatments, vaccines, and anesthesia under veterinary supervision.
✅ Prepare Animals for Surgery
Assist in sterilization procedures, prepare instruments, monitor anesthesia, and care for animals during recovery.
✅ Operate Medical Equipment
Use radiographic (X-ray) machines, ultrasound devices, and laboratory analyzers to perform diagnostic tests.
✅ Maintain Animal Records
Document medical histories, test results, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately in digital or manual records.
✅ Educate Pet Owners
Communicate with owners about post-treatment care, nutrition, and preventive health routines.
✅ Support Emergency Procedures
Assist during critical care or trauma situations, ensuring animals receive prompt and safe medical attention.
✅ Uphold Sanitation and Safety Standards
Maintain clean, organized, and sterile working environments in compliance with veterinary clinic regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
✔ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or Animal Health Science
✔ Certification or eligibility for credentialing (LVT, RVT, or CVT) depending on region
✔ Basic understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior
✔ Excellent observational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
✔ Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities
✔ Compassionate approach toward animals and owners
✔ Ability to handle animals safely and calmly
✔ Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
Preferred Qualifications (Optional but beneficial):
✔ Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or research lab
